You are allowed to eat no carbs… but it’s probably a good idea to eat some of the low carb vegetables up to your allowed carb intake per stage of the diet as they contain valuable nutrients and fiber your body needs.
Have you read the book? Read the book or one of the other low carb books. Atkins is out dated. Too much processed and artificially sweetened foods.
The induction phase calls for 20 to 40 grams of carbohydrate per day. Carbs from fiber do not count. Check your labels and you will see that you can eat pounds of most vegetables. This level is only recommended for 2 weeks. You will notice metabolic changes. Good to get started, not healthy long term. Note, I did not say Atkins is not good long term. A low carb diet is much healthier than a low fat diet. In fact, you should increase your intake of natural saturated fat. Avoid vegetable oils except olive oil.

Actually, you don’t have to diet in fact to lose weight, the only diet which definitely delivered for me was green tea, it can be checked out in the resource box below, they have a small number of free trials remaining, it was featured in Reader’s Digest and USA Today. I melted away 25 pounds, it definitely does produce success!
Most people will lose weight by reducing carbs to just 30 to 40 grams per day. However we are not all the same,if I was to follow the exercise plan of a top olympic runner would I get a gold at the olympics?no I will not.
