It would be different if you needed a liver transplan for instant because that is a surgery that they will cover but not lap band. Also mosthealthinsurance companies don't want people with existing medical condictions so that is why most people are turned down for health insurance because of thier existing problem. Sorry I couldn't be much of a help. There should be a phone number on the back of the health insurance card even though you may want to change companies it wouldn't hurt to ask them if they cover lap band surgery.
