How Do I Get Insurance For Lap Band Or Bypass Surgery If My Insurance Company Has Turned Me Down.?

My insurance company will not cover lap band surgery for me (or gastric bypass for that matter). I have been overweight for years, have sleep apnea, sore knees, and the necessary BMI to qualify. Even the hospital that would do the surgery has told me that they turned them down. Paying for it myself would be out of the question. My company has been using this insurance company for years and years – I do not see them switching carriers in the near future. Is there any way I can get this surgery done? I feel the pros far outweigh the cons.

Is there a insurance company in texas that will cover the lap band surgery. I currently donot have insurance at all and I would love to get this done but I cannot afford the $15,000 to do so. If anyone has had this done with there insurance what was the weight time in order to get this done and was there any requirments that there insurance company made them do before you got approved to do the surgery? I have been looking at insurance company but I am very confused. Thank you for your help.

Any Suggestions On How To Fight My Insurance Company So They Will Pay For Gastric Lap-band Surgery?

I have decided that I would like to have gastric lap-band surgery. Over the past 15 years my weight has yo yo-ed and I cannot seem to maintain the weight I lose. Please refrain from lectures on healthy living, diet and exercise. I have heard it all and totally agree….I just can’t seem to maintain those goals over a long period of time. Any suggestions on how to present a successful appeal to my insurance company that might compell them to cover the cost of this surgery?
