Classic weight loss advice has always been this: “If you want to lose weight, simply reduce your calorie intake”. However new research has proved that reducing calorie intake to a very low level can actually cause health hazards for the individual. In this case, the individual would have bigger things to worry about than weight loss! In this article I will tell you what is the ideal way to lose weight!
It is true that obesity can afflict your body with several harmful diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, respiratory problems, stroke, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc. But guess what? These are not the diseases that motivate people to lose weight. In fact, people lose weight just to get rid of the social stigma that has been attached to them!
People join a popular weight loss program in the hope of quick weight loss, and while all seems to go well for the first few weeks, gradually things start to get worse. Then when these people quit dieting, they gain back all the weight they had lost! Why does that happen? That is because you have not lost any fat during the period you were a member of the weight loss program! In order to get rid of your flabby arms, you need to lose FAT, but what you lost instead of that are valuable muscles and water!
Here is how it happens: when you have more muscle tissues, you usually burn fat at a tremendous speed. When you started dieting, your muscle tissues deteriorated steadily. When you left the weight loss program, you had more fat tissues than muscle tissues. With the muscle tissues being outnumbered by the fat tissues, the fat cells find it easier to multiply, since there is no one to check their growth. That is why you gain back your lost weight as soon as you stop dieting!
A good diet program should generally be one which will not only help you get rid of fat, but also make you feel better! With a good diet program, you won’t feel like you are dieting; instead you will feel much better about yourself! A good diet program works by manipulating your metabolism in such away that your body always keeps your metabolic rate at a very high level, and as you might know, the higher your metabolic rate the more fat you will burn!
Couple this with regular workouts and you have got the perfect combo to knock out all the unwanted pounds! Regular workouts will help you build strong muscles which in turn would force the fat cells beat a hasty retreat! Eventually, you will get the slimmer and fitter look you desire so much!
So keep this one thing in mind: what you need to lose is FAT, NOT weight!
